I have had an interest in photography since my early teenage years starting off, as many people did, with a Russian produced SLR as my first “serious” camera. I took an early interest in monochrome work and spent many happy hours in the darkroom progressing to home processed colour when affordable kits came onto the market. Nowadays I am completely digital and sadly the darkroom is no more.
I live in Hexham, Northumberland and am a member of the Hexham and District Photographic Society. My main interest used to be in portraiture and people photography and I completed my LRPS in 2001 with a portrait panel, however my photographic subjects have diversified since then under the influence of the many assignment days held by Hexham PS and in 2006 I achieved my ARPS with a panel of photographs depicting scenes around the Newcastle / Gateshead quayside area. I still need to move my photography forward and am now entering International Exhibitions with some encouraging early successes.
I hope you enjoy looking at my website and the Gallery which shows many of the assignments that I have taken part in.
